Auto Windows using key fob
« on: April 20, 2010, 12:25:14 pm »

During the recent hot/warm weather I have used the key remote to open the car and the windows, however it only works on the driverside window.

Do I nned to change a setting via highline comp to ensure it does both?

This happened to me the other day actually -- it stopped closing all but the drivers door window.  After connecting the car to a friend's VCDS cable we noticed that there were errors (DTCs) on the radio and randomly enough, clearing these made all the windows work again...

When doing this from the key fob do you just hold the unlock button down?

Yep, or the lock button if you want to close them. :happy2:

It's definitely an option that needs to be enabled via the highline display or VCDS though.

On my MK2 Leon if you held the lock button for a few seconds the windws would close - any ideas if VCDS can programe the golf to do that?

Yeah mine does close the windows but you need to keep lock button pressed - on my leon you only had to press it once for a couple of seconds and it would fold the mirrors and close the windows.

Scotta, think ive seen another post on this somewhere and iirc then this isnt possible via a VCDS re-code, think it requires an alarm unit with global closure feature, so require a new module or after-market unit. Shame as it would be a good feature.

You mean where you hold down the unlock button and all the windows open right? On mine (57 reg MY08) there is definitely a setting in the highline comp to turn this feature on/off and I think an option for the drivers side only (tho I might getting this mixed up with the auto-lock feature!). I can't remember off-hand what it's called in the menu but it something pretty cryptic like "convenience mode" I think.

The highline display is a full sized display. The midline is a half-sized display. If you have highline you will have extra buttons to access the onscreen menu.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.
