Looking for someone with an EVOMS? type induction setup

Hi all, im looking to upgrade the intake on the GTi and not sure what to get.
I've read the really good review on the TWINtake but not keen on its looks and i quite like the roar of an open cone from past experience.

I was looking at something like this....

But would obviously require the engine cover to be modified (The engine is ugly as sin without the cover on tidying up the engine bay) and im not keen on their own engine cover.

So what im looking for is someone not too far away from me if possible so i can have a look and listen to a car running an open cone filter type setup like this to see if i like the looks and sound or not.

I'm in Hertfordshire but dont mind a bit of a drive to check this out if possible, as a bargaining chip, i've also got the sexy optional GTi Recaro seats you can perv over in return lol

i had an evoms intake fitted bout 2 weeks ago, and i agree i would love to get a modified engine cover to hide the engine ugliness but i dont like the evoms one too.so am looking  for a replacement.

sound wise tho its great a little on the loud side but i suppose thats what i wanted .

unfotunatley i live in sheffield so probably bit far for u ,otherwise i could show u the car .

neilM converted his oem one and i think it looks better thany aftermarket one, ill try find the thread, think its in the diy section.
when i get my intake-prob neuspeed or evoms thats what illcopy

It's on a Skoda Octavia but same engine.

Thanks for the replies guys.
How do you find the noise from the kit? Does it have a purposeful roar to it or does it seem a bit limp wristed?

I spy an Audi R8 oil cap on that Skoda too.... thats also on my list of goodies to buy.
I cant see the modification thread pics from work so this might already be shown, but can someone post a side on view of the engine cover? Just wondered if you can see right under the side of it or if its a bit more covered down the side that needs trimming (If that makes sense?)
