Anti Roll Bar Bushes
« on: April 21, 2010, 09:50:42 pm »
Evening all,

Having some trouble with the front KW ARB's being noisy, what grease should be used on the bushes for these?

Silicon based grease is fine to use if the bushes are rubber, black molybdenum or most lithium based ones if the bushes are polyurethane

This stuff seems to come well recommended  :happy2:

Has anyone else had to do this on their car? Any tips?

....Yes, but it was as usual all done for me. I seem to have a resistance to getting my hands dirty - Sorry! The point is that ARB bushes do seem to need re-greasing from time to time. Surely not on your Mk6 so soon?

Within a week of the uprated ARB's being fitted I have had issues, one  (a knocking noise) I solved myself. Just need to sort the low speed compression "squeaks" now

Is it worth roughing the two surfaces up just a little bit - just to stop two very smooth surfaces acting like when you rub two balloons together?
Sideways yo!

The knock on mine was due to one of the drop links being loose  :surprised:

Drop link connection on the arb on the drivers side.
