They were a bit of a mongrel as they were trying out different laquers. The wheel itself was painted silver but then had about 4 layers of black laquer.

The higher the content of metallic flakes in the silver dictates how much will show through the black laquer.

Only joking

I have been thinking about black after seeing these RS6 reps on a GTTDI-R's Steel Grey GT but i am not 100% sure they would work with the Pescara

LOL,

Sorry for confusing you Steve. This will confound you even more. A photoshop of the Helios in Mid matt grey. Most unusual and would really be a truly unique set of wheels :happy2:

Golf R gone.

I think the original wheels should be left the colour they come from the factory! I am planning to have some 19" ch custom painted the same colour as the pascara's to keep the oem look!  I have one 19" CH just need to fins another 3 cheap ones!!!

I am tempted to get my CH's done in a shadow chrome so they look slightly different to oem but not too much.

Totally agree with Greenouse. Need to be a dark grey (like Candy's) or even black, other wise they will look wrong against the paint.
But totally with you on the idea of getting them darker Steve. But I would say that..
