I've got Conti Sport 3's on my GTi and will be buying another pair of tyres to replace my low tread fronts.
They seem to be a good tyre.

Altho i see a lot of raving about the Vreds i also saw a lot of negative stuff on some of the Audi RS forums too so i think as with most things its personal preference more than anything really.

I think weight/chassis set-up has a lot to do with who prefers what.

Some E46 M3/B5 RS4 forums love Kumho KU31 Ecsta tyres, but bash the Vred's... Golf forums seems to be the other way round!

I've not got experience of the Conti's, so I don't want to comment, but I'd go for the Vred's purely on tread pattern... I'm sad.

Hurdy - Just the MAN!!!

Conti 2's are they noisy and how long did they last (I have a bog std GTI so not putting down anything like your beast!!!)

Why did you swap to Vredesteins?

Which would you have bought at M8's rate £75 Conti or £89  Vreds

Cheers

I found the conti's poor in the wet so went for the Vreds and am much happier.  Although the Conti's at that price are a no brainer.

Vred's will last you around 10k, not sure about the conti's as I sold them on my Monzas part worn.

Conti's Ordered - just hope they are quieter than the Dunlops, which at +10k look like they haven't worn down at all!!!

Found no bad reports online for cars like ours, except the ware rate being on the high side.  Merc's & BM's seem to suffer - probably cos they are a heavy car???

Thank you everyone for your input.

id disagree that the vreds are pants on track.  with only 90 miles on them, they were outgripping the toyos i had on my car the weekend previous(and they were not even half worn).   Dont forget you are used to the grip of the R888s on track.  pretty much all the leading  tyres wil feel pants compared to them.

the vreds are good in the wet as well.

Vred's for sure.

The Conti 2's lasted about 7k miles up front and then I had Conti 3's which were slightly better. I sold my original alloys with the tyres and then after a few other alloy types I settled on Team Dynamics PR1.2's and the Vred's. They are better (IMHO) than the Conti's in both the dry and the wet.   The Conti 2's were slightly noisier than the 3's and the Vred's.
