« on: April 22, 2010, 09:22:06 pm »

And just wunderd if this noise comes when you fit itg filter. i think it could be the waste gate but im not shure thanks.

Sounds normal mate, my ITG is very noisy.  Its a trait of open filters, enjoy it!

^^^^
If it's a consistent 'squeak', there's been some posts in the American forums about solving it when aftermarket high-flow tubular intakes are fitted.

Is your car an Ed30 or a GTI, or something else?

slightly of topic but are the itg panel  filters the best to get and worth the extra money or pipe filters as good

....I've had both but not scientifically tested them. Not really any noticeable difference in performance but the ITG panel filter absolutely fills the airbox space much better and its material would do a better filtration job longer term.

My ITG panel filter is for sale but has done about 50k miles and needs reconditioning (not difficult but messy).

I've just been having a long chat with Forge giving them Twintake feedback amongst other things, and we discussed how every aftermarket intake will sound different on each car. That applies to exactly the same high-flow tubular intake on different cars. It's simply because of the harmonic reverberations which each individual car setup will have and the consequent sound transfers.

You can also vary the sound with your right foot (throttle).

Add to that the fact that we each hear different sound frequencies slightly differently and also have differing preferences in what we like to hear. = One man's meat is another one's poison.

Hurdy's EVOMS sounds like a laughing Hyena.

With regards to 'squeeking'.  When I initially fitted my ITG there was squeeking, it was the silicone hoses as I didnt use silicone lubricant spray when fitting.

But, anyway, we're glad to hear your problem is solved  :happy2:

A Warm Welcome to the forum, by the way.
