Anyone used HAWK pads?
« on: January 12, 2009, 01:11:28 pm »
I was rather miffed to find you can't get DS2500 rears for a MKV yet, so I've just bought some HAWK HPS.. There weren't many other options (I refuse to buy EBC sh*t.) and, the Yanks seem to like them.

Anyone had them on their car? Thoughts?
Sideways yo!

Don't use them but did you check the catalogue for DS2500 fitment to the A3 rear as that is supposedly the same as the gti.
Without traction power is nothing!

It's for the rear pads RR, AP have just supplied the fronts.

Ah, I thought AP did rear brakes as well. If they do, then surely they use DS2500's.

:happy2:

One step at a time fella, you'll have me skint!

OEM upgraded pads will do for now, I'll maybe look at upgrading the lot to the R32 or VWR rears in the future.

:signLOL:

Then what are you doing hanging around on this forum? - It's guaranteed to harm your bank balance!

I'm up at VWR tomorrow, so I'll ask about when their latest brakes will have finished development. For road I'd expect R32 to be totally adequate, but for regular track, I'd definitely go VWR (or AP).

No, I'm going to be tough this time - I've told her as soon as it is going round corners and stopping, it'll stop sucking big money...

Wheels are a fudge as I'm just selling existing ones to fund others.

I'd absolutely love one, and I'd dearly love to get rid of the Fisher Price My First Radio and its useless iPod link... maybe later in the year when the price has come down a bit I'll bang in a Sunday for one?
