Hi Guys,
Here’s a Nice Scirocco for you to have a look at! It had 150 miles on the clock when Dave booked it in. About 2 to 3 weeks later it was eventually came into me. Id told Dave to try and resist washing, but in his excitement, he managed to rack up 1200 miles so he washed it, badly too! The Dealer washed it also, so there was a fair few swirls already!
So here she is, already a few bits added. Phaeton Helios Wheels and LED indicators/side lights.
Just as I was getting into the wash routine, all hell broke loose in the skies!!
I did the engine bay whilst the heavens were open. I stood in the unit with the camera, as it’s a bit expensive to be swimming with it!
So now I was home and dry in the unit, I got onto the claying.
The car was a mess with iron fillings, and wax.
The Wheels were given a full Jobbie, as you can see, they were pretty messy.
Megs wheel brightener / two hits of tardis on each side / a bit of claying / some hand/ DA polishing/ Swissvax Autobahn (ahh out of breath) Left this...
Much Better
Now back into polishing position after it was dried down. (Over exposed shot)
Time to get a better idea on the paint. Paint readings were taken, also plenty of shots of the damage inflicted.
So after a pass with Swissvax cleaner fluid pro and a 3M yellow polishing pad used, this is what happened!
After
Some more scratched areas.
Before
After
Front bumper taped up and same process carried out with spot pads.
Lights also had the same unfortunate damage
After
The Rear of the Scirocco has two black detailing strips running down the rear window, similar to a lot of cars have on the B pillars. These are soft as cheese so they were probably the most visible and scratched areas.
So after the polishing was done, I applied Werkstatt Acrylic Prime Strong. That was cured over a period of 12 Hours or so. Then I applied 3 coats of Werkstatt Jett Trigger. Leaving a finish like this.
Engine Bay dressed
Interior also given a quick clean. Sorry there are no better photos, Dave was waiting to get off!
Some outdoor shots
Aside from that, whilst the car was in, Dave is a bit of a Brake whiz, as you know!! He has a house full of all sorts of fantastic brakes and can hook you up with anything, for any car! All custom carriers etc. He wanted to get a set of brakes (very expensive, from an RS4 with white powder coating) polishing and waxing!
Zym Royale Was asked for, but just to be sure, with the temperatures, I put Some FK1000p underneath the Zym.
How they arrived.
Wax Curing
Done
