Im thinking of changing my RCD300 for something a bit better, my cars a 55 plate 06 model with an autochanger in the centre armrest.

What options have i got without spending a ruck of money

RNS 510 if you want a nav. RCD 510 if you don't? Unless you want aftermarket? :happy2:

Bit pricey and wish it was specced from new on mine, but its an awesome bit of kit. RNS should be the dearer of the two, just check your firmware as is discussed numerous times in various threads on here, re batry drain issues.  :happy2:

These are between £350-£600

RCD510

Nice little upgrade, not as spec'd up as the RNS but can be had for a couple of hundred cheaper, however if you have a car that's earlier than a MY08 car you'll need the canbus gateway thingy updating with a new one that works with the 3rg generation stereos, the older gateways will drain your battery.

New gateway and fitting *could* set you back £150-200 so it sort of comes to the same price as an RNS.

If you pick up an older RNS you can fit this without the need for the gateway update.

RCD 510 comes with 6 CD MP3 changer built in, SD slot and a nice touchscreen

RNS 510 has a single DVD/CD slot, NAV, SD slot, higher res touchscreen, built in hard drive
