Well, picked up an Ed30 for the wife yesterday, spoke with VW @ MK.
Apparently I have to wait for a letter?????????????

I explained that the car will be registered to me this week & surely the letter has gone elsewhere & can't they just issue one to me.

Not so, seems to be the case........

I think I am in for a long haul

its a bit of a lottery every time you ring up vw customer services,

some there are helpful others are as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike.

it took me about 4 months and a fair few phone calls before i received mine - no pre-letter for me the plaque just came in the post last week.

just ring them up with your chassis number to hand and explain you have just recently purchased the car - should get it sorted.

Ummm, the lady did not seem that helpful really.
I called on 0800 333666. Is this the right number to hassle on?

Spoke to a top chap called Steve. Gave him the chas number, all my details & all logged & was even given  a case ID.
He advised that the plaques are sent out in batches of 200 & it would be with me in 2-3months.

Fingures crossed..........

Would like a spare or two so anyone interested in getting another order together (once I know what number mine is)

Trouble is if they are being sent in batches of 200, it only takes 13 batches to clear all 2500??..........Now that can't be a huge job! I have rung 6 times in the last 2 months and get a different story everytime.  :mad:  I suppose we will just have to be patient.  :laugh:

when i rang the other day, he said something like "those who ring get the top of the pile" wtf??????? i had rung last year and my call didnt get put in the "action" pile, but rather, left unasigned... so i got "forgotten"

I rang last week as I thought it was about time.

When I got home yesterday there was a card through the door from the post office.

Went down there this morning and there was my Ed30 number plaque.
