Golf GTI used in robbery
« on: May 01, 2010, 07:17:02 pm »
Not sure if anybody watched crimewatch but there was a robbery in Bradford stealing around £150,000 worth of gold. They got away in a Golf GTI (mk5), the cars speed was used for the wrong thing here. They burnt it at the end uswel :sad1:. It was a stolen car a month before. Sad news and quite bad that they used a GTI, let's hope it's not a trend.

About 12 months ago (just when I was buying my GTI) there was a huge trend of robbers using MK5s, mainly due to the power but they don't turn many heads on the road either. Seem to be more Audi A3s being used lately.

I know it's sad, the one in the reconstruction was 3 door. Whatever they can get I bet.

golf gti are now the getaway vehicle favourites due to their speed and the ability to blend in well and not draw attention to itself, unlike a evo etc.

....Then I'm glad to say that mine draws plenty of attention to itself and is also useless driving fast over sleeping policemen aka speed bumps.
