HTC Desire or iPhone 3GS
« on: May 01, 2010, 08:15:50 pm »
Okay,

I'm due for an upgrade and I've seen plenty of iPhones and like the apps etc, but a mate at work has the HTC Desire and it is a superb piece of kit too.

T3 seem to love the HTC and it has just knocked the Iphone 3GS off their top spot for the smart phones.

Which one should I get - and if you have any reasons let me know please. Ta.
Golf R gone.

having had use of both and had to support both id vote the HTC.

Both batterys are rubbish in either phone.

The things that make the two the right one for you is all in how you plan to use your phone.

Personally i cant stand either

If you are going to sit and play games on your phone all thime then go iPhone. It got loads more games and there much better at the moment. If not then get a desire. It's better in nearly every respect and the areas where its let down are becoming fewer and fewer as new apps, updates come out. Plus its got flash player which is a huge bonus when browsing.  From reading the hype the new I phone isn't due.anytime.soon and why would they when there current product is selling like hot cakes. The new iPhone allegedly due in June is just a new.operating system that all current iPhone can update to and new ones will come with. Had my desire for about month and its the dogs danglys!

HTC Desire is brill (equivalent of the Google Nexus One) , they are virtually the same phone (HTC makes the Nexus as well)
You may want to consider waiting to see what apple do , and the HTC Incredible is out soon which is even better.
Desire has Android Os with the HTC Sense wrapper on top which adds some really nice features.
current smartphones are a days worth of battery at best.

if you need it now get the Desire  :happy2: you wont be disappointed

(in fact Im very jealous , I want one of the newer android phones  )

[edited to add that you need a google account to get the max from an android phone  :happy2:]

Has anyone seen the farce with the new iphone, some designer leaving it in a bar. apple writing letter and getting a house busted looking for it, pics look good though.
tell me more about these HTC's as I noticed JohnO youre a fan of them, I was looking at blackberrys but when my new website is up and running I want to be able to access while on the go so the berrys not made for that.

I've just got a HTC Desire and so far love the phone and the camera is much better than my HTC G2 that i had but returned. The newer Android software (2.1) is much better than the earlier 1.x versions and im finally settled on replacing my N95.

I tried an iPhone and was tempted to try one again but the Desire just seems to do it for me, things like the multitasking, 1ghz processor, the battery is replaceable, doesnt need a wank application like iTunes to sync stuff up and it ties nicely in to other nice sites like Facebook or the like.
My contacts in my address book are linked to my facebook and my Google account and as a result it backs them all up and gives me extra info and auto adds numbers, emails, birthdays etc to it.

Everyone harps on about the Itunes store having loads more apps, but who cares if you can get 10,000 applications that make a fart noise and another 50,000 that make your phone a torch, doesnt really mean much and the app store on Android has just as many useful apps as the iStore, the numbers might be lower but then thats going to be largely down to less duplication of the same thing.

Give it a go, im sure u wont be disappointed
