Sealing wax
« on: May 01, 2010, 12:31:31 pm »
Going to give the car a good clean today and was wondering what sealing is before waxing? I'm going to polish and then wax but does stuff like jetseal do?

Also I bought Meguiars tyre dressing gel but it doesn't apply properly with a cloth, should I use any brush?

Jetseal is the suff my friend! in an ideal world apply i coat of jetseal leave for about 15 to 20 mins then buff off, leave car overnight and apply a second coat, buff, then apply the wax of your choice

Does it make the wax bond better?

Not sure if it helps it bond mate, just gives the paint the best possible finish to apply a wax if you choose to.
Some people just use the sealant and dont top it with wax as they say it gives enough protection alone. imo the more protection the better so i always apply a couple of coats of wax over the jetseal.
It beads so well i have trouble keeping the car wet when i hose it to wash, just runs on to the drive!
