hey tried searching for this but couldnt find anything to do with this subject.

been to look at a potential new ride tonight and looking at the service book noticed that on the 10k or 1 year service it had been done just under a month after a 1 year and at 12,800 miles at a non vw garage, the guy says thta it has 7 months manufacturers warranty left. So..my question is with these little issues in mind would it still covered under vw warranty?? any answers would be welcome..

cheers

Hi, see if this helps...

http://www.volkswagen.co.uk/owners/warranty/factory/terms

Servicing
Your vehicle should be serviced in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations. Any damage to or defect in the vehicle caused by poor or insufficient servicing will not be remedied under the vehicle's warranty. Please ensure that you maintain sufficient records to enable our Authorised Network to confirm that the vehicle has been appropriately serviced. In any event, please ensure that the service schedule booklet in your vehicle is stamped by the business carrying out the service work.

So I guess this means it does not have to be serviced by VW and still be under warranty?

Warranty is valid so long as the car is maintained as per the manfacturer guidance. Where is irrelevant i believe so long as its serviced according to schedule.

VW will honour a warranty when the car has been elsewhere but only if Genuine parts are used.
