Clutch slipping plus questions
« on: May 03, 2010, 09:35:10 am »
Clutch has started to slip between 3 - 4k in 4/5/6th. Car has only done 19.5 k!

Anybody know prices/options for replacements?

Running bluefin stage one at the moment - is it worth sticking the standard map back on?

Could i chance it with a warranty claim if i stuck the standard map back on?

When you return the bluefin to standard does it flash the vag code back on or is it a superchips emulation of standard mode?

Any comments/suggestions welcome.

 :sad1:

it will not slip in stock mode as the torque is what is making it slip so you will have to spend you money on a sachs clutch disc  :sad1: but then it will never slip again

Mods yes but way too many to stick in this little box

Yep only on full bore!

Ive refalshed it back to standard and taken it a run - no issues on standard even on full bore up hill.

Was thinking i might have a word with superchips and see if they have a map with abit less peak torque further up the rev range? Anyone know if this is possible?

deffo possible, its either that or just shift down so you are above 4k rpm when giving it the beans

I paid £780 for a Helix clutch fitted inc new release bearing.
The Helix is comparible to the Sachs item discussed on this thread.

Spoke to superchips who have just sent me a different map to try with a less aggressive torque delivery. Will give it a bash later on tonight and see how it goes.

You may not like it. I didnt :sad1:

Went back to the Full fat version

It will only get worse over time if your running any sort of map. So as Matt said, start saving up for the Sachs.

Hmmm will see how it goes! Did you have to flash it back to standard first before installing the Diet version?

yup. All depends on which brand of OEM clutch you have. If you have a LUK one then start saving for a replacement.
