So for example if i gave you my k04 to "hybrid" it, what turbo would it not be equivellent to once i refitted it?

currently on stage 2+ revo, so asuming i would need to get stage 3 loaded up, what bhp could be expected?

what bhp will the new modified turbo handle?

Ill let Kev answer specifically but when I looked into it a while back the main benefits would be improvements on reliability more than anything else..

Problem being that there is physically hardly any room for going larger on the intake or exhaust side so I would estimate around 20hp at an absolute max! Most of which due to improved efficiency from the use of a billet HTA compressor wheel, in which case a realistic 380-390hp should be achievable.. What wheel are they going to be using?

Still, its a very viable option for someone who doesn't want to change injectors and/or turbo etc.. Especially if the work was completed on an exchange basis..

So how would the hybrid turbo work with an existing Revo remap?  Would the adjustability Revo brings with regard to boost timing and fueling be enough to customise the map to work?  Or are the characteristics of the hybrid K04 too different to the OEM K04 meaning it will only work well with a custom tune?

We will see.. All I would imagine is that you will gain flow, which means most of it will be sorted out by the ECU anyways.. Most probably Revo S2+ map would be able to fine tune to it.. Its not going to be night and day between OEM K04 and Hybrid..

Personally I would have thought that it would have to be a custom tune as there would be a larger flow of air to push through, meaning a different mix and a slightly laggier spool.

There are a couple of options, you either go more aggressive on the intake wheel design, which would mean even MORE torque.. Not something that I would see as a performance benefit, or you go for something which will flow more up top but as you say slightly increase spool time, again, not something that the K04 struggles with as standard..

be interested to see what jabba can make of it  :happy2:
