The PS2 and the PSS are 'hyper-sports' tyres.  With the greatest respect, and as much as we love 'em, a Golf GTI is not a hyper-sports car!  :P

I honestly don't think Michelin 'intended' for hyper-sports tyres be used on hot hatches - which is why they've restricted sizes of PSS to more 'exotica' and genuine high performance cars, and left the PS3 to fill the void left by their previous 'hot hatch' tyre - the Pilot Exalto.

supersports is perfect for hothatches. The tyre was developed on porsches, ferrari and the audi TT to help rid understeer particularly in the porsches and the audi, and it does so well!

tony_danza:
To be fair, it doesn't rid anything of understeer - it simply moves the point of adhesion. It'll still understeer if you push it...

It's exactly the opposite of putting chinlealong ditchfinders on which will build in more understeer.

whatever it is, the car feels so much more neutral now!

Cant wait to see what its going to be like with some track baised coilover setup

tony_danza:
Deffo. I remember sticking the PSCups on mine and doing a few laps of my local back lanes - I thought I had a different car!!
