I am still evaluating the PS3 before I create the full review on here, BUT I would tend to agree, for me so far these are a step back from the PS2.
poor from cold and need a few miles to warm up.
in the snow noticeably worse than PS2's (which I had on during last years snow)
wet grip I havent found any difference.

It would be fair to say Im disappointed so far  :surprised:, if they dont last a longer mileage either then Im going back to PS2s..........

I had ps2s a few years back and they were so poor in the cold and snow I will never ever buy a Michelin tyre again. I remember driving in snow, it was the most frightening experience I've ever had. Car was all over the place at walking speed and any slight incline resulted in me stuck. I couldn't turn, brake or accelerate, I had to reverse down the hill near my house, put the car on the drive and get a lift to work.  F1 assymetrics were better, vreds sessantas are unbelievably good.  Missus has bridgestone re50's on her mini, not sure if the LSD helps but it's not been stopped by anything thrown at it so far and is so easy to control when a little out of shape

Disappointing updates about the PS3's - Many folks on here were ecstatic about them to the extent that I was seriously considering them next but now, as I'm totally happy with them, I'll stick to my Dunlop-GY Asymmetric's.

now, I know its a slightly different drive train, but I've had none of the above issues and no real signs of excessive wear, including 60 laps of Anglesey on a trackday, very odd

and to wear a set of tyres out in 5K?????

I've been running PS3's for 8K both on the road and 2 trips to a certain toll road and remain impressed with them in all areas, certainly no worse than the GY Assymetric F1s i had previously and probably slightly better in the wet imo.. Still got 5mm on the fronts so definitely better than the F1s in that respect  :happy2:

Perhaps the slightly disappointing performance of the PS3's that some people coming from PS2s are finding is down to the fact that the PS3 is and never was intended as a replacement for the PS2 but as a replacement for the Pilot Exalto and actually under performs the PS2! , Michelin themselves have admitted to this and the replacement for the PS2 came out officially a couple of days ago...

The Michelin website refers to it's predecessor as the ps2's so seems that way!

You only have to look at the tread pattern to see it's not a replacement for the PS Cup

As a result, the new MICHELIN tire has key advantages that enable it to rise to the challenge posed by its predecessor, the MICHELIN Pilot Sport PS2, which was certified as original equipment on more than 200 vehicles.

needless to say if Id known they were successors to the Exaltos and not the PS2, I wouldnt have bought them!!!!
The Exaltos I had from new were utter sh1t3 (unless you want huge mileage as the primary reason)

Michelin have hoodwinked us all, Im not impressed  :sad1:

I went from Vred Sessanta to PS3 and i haven't had any problems. I have found the tyres in the past 7k miles to be brilliant and definately the best i have ever had ( i have used GY F1, Avon ZZ3, Vred Sessanta )

Good review of then here on a nice variety of cars

 http://www.porscheblogs.co.uk/tested-the-new-michelin-pilot-super-sport/

Also mentions that there will be 18s available  :happy2:

Need some new rubber for the cayman but gonna try and hold off for these, 5secs a lap quicker than a ps2 and lasts longer
