Rear Eibach Anti roll bar help
« on: January 14, 2009, 06:37:40 pm »
Hi all!
Just a quick one. I bought some eibach anti-roll bars from e-bay second hand and to cut a long story short the courier damaged the box and bits went missing! The bits I am missing are the whatever comes with the rear bar!? Can anybody tell me what I am missing and where can I buy replacements?

Cheers John

The bushes at least, think they use the std brackets, could try awesome for the bushes and they will be able to tell you if its std brackets or not but i think it is

If the courier damaged the package and you lost bits then surely they should accept some liability.

yes but only covered for £50! don't really want to spend £50 on some bushes when I only paid £90 for the bars!

Surely if it's covered for £50 and the bushes are £50 it's a perfect solution??

Unless of course you think you can make a few ££ by pocketing the £50 payout.

I am hoping that the courier will pay out the £50! I just thing £50 is a lot of money when all I need is a couple of bushes!

Surely that's not much more than a standard bar (obviously it's a lot stiffer though) - can you not just get some Powerflex OEM replacements and force them on?

I've got a set of bushes here, 26mm I/D so no use to you sadly, but I'll grab a photo to show you what they look like and how to cut them.
Sideways yo!

Ok - it's a D shaped bush with ridges to stop it moving laterally in the clamp. Cut the Powerflex ones down the flat face and wrap them around the bar - tightening it will force it that extra couple of mm you need... don't go crazy though, or you'll snap the clamp/bolts.

This will be perectly safe IMO until you get a fitting kit further down the line*

*I'm no engineer though, so don't take that as gospel!

what size is the std front anti-roll bar? I was thinking maybe use the std front on the uprated rear?

I'm pretty sure the VW bushes are bonded to the bar, how they're replaced though I have no idea?
