for c35k i would go for the e90 m3 over the rs4, quicker and dare i say it a bit more precise - i have seen some going for less than 30k too and i am certainly tempted

What he said!

I'm looking at E46 M3's, but I also noticed that E92 M3's are now going for 28-30K it is very tempting!!!

its what i want but it think its gonna be a bit out of my price range  :sad1:

will be a 135i for me, with forge intercooler, zorst and remap for 400bhp and 11s up the pod

did you get to drive or get a passenger in the RS4?

rs4 was my boyhood dream car and I swore to myself when I was 16 that I would buy one, but having been in one I have been left disapointed. Doesnt sound all that, and not that fast for what many people see as one step down from a supercar. A stage 2 plus s3 will be quicker. Also albeit I wasnt driving it, everything was too relaxed and calm for me, no real drama, just smooth power, maybe even a bit boring, but then again maybe disregard everything which I have said as Im the type who would have a road going go kart as a daily car.

Would take a new m3 for 35k instead of a rs4 also.

I went from Stage 2 S3 to RS4.  Not much in it performance wise, but thatS it. Everything else is so much better about the RS, steering, brakes, linear power and the noise - I did have a Milltek though!!  I say go for it, just make sure it has a warranty, and the brakes are new, best part of 1600 all in!!  Every trip is just an experience. Well it wants to be, mine averaged 16mpg  or so over 7000 miles!

Do it, you won't regret it.

Bit random but does the RS4 give that shove in the back feeling?

Thought so, but you'd think that in an S5 which wasn't the case.

....

Follow your dream, Ian! An RS4 will suit your family needs best imo. The only prob is the mpg! I don't like saloons - waste of space for me and limited load dimension capacity - but the RS4 is the best 4-door saloon. V8 rules!

....Not what would suit Ian's family I guess, but that BMW is pure sex! I'd be very seriously interested in that if it suited my lifestyle but I already know that a 2-door Beemer doesn't.

....Aha! Voila! This here is the perfect example: An RS4 would far better suit Ian's family needs but a Golf R would far better suit my needs.

Not tough at all for either Ian or myself to decide. Capice? Do you get it at last? :P You sell people cars don't you.. so you ought to.  :happy2:

when it was time to leave my MK4 .:R32 i went to the Audi dealership to buy my RS4, sat in the chair and found the one i wanted on their dealer network, the call was made and it had sold that morning so i would have to wait. during that wait the opportunity of getting a MK5 .:R32 in candy reared its ugly head and money was burning a hole in my pocket so i bought one

would still love to own an RS4 though, but i think the M3 itch needs to be scratched first... that is of course unless i accidentally fall into a Focus RS

Audi very kindly let me have an RS4 for a day at Silverstone some time back - with the not-so secret ESP properly off setting done it was deffo in the top 5 finest cars I've driven, there's something just so about them. Better than an E46 M3... not quite an E90.

Who cares if something else will beat it in a straight line? That's childish idiots for you.
Sideways yo!

My friend has just been making this very same choice, for ages his dream car had been a 911, but having looked at a few he decided he couldnt live with them as a daily car. So it came down to RS4 or M5, taking into account he'd already had two S3's, S4 then the later RS4 version he decided on the M5, 07 plate loads of extras, £34k and he loves it  :driver:

i myself, would take RS4 anyday, drove an MTM tuned one, it left me smiling for days  :jumpmove:
