I was thinking the same thing, I didnt know the S3 had an oil temp sensor.  All very educational!

again back on topic, wrong engine i know but with the .:R32 its stated that its recommended to let the revs settle before driving (about 30 seconds) which is something i have religiously done

that said to be environmentally friendly its better if you dont blah blah

In the past, I must confess to starting a 1.8 Vectra hire car from cold with my hoof to the floor, every morning for a week.

It was a particularly hateful lump of metal and so I showed it no mercy.  :ashamed:

I thought they were best used for practising gear shift without a clutch  :ashamed:

VC does it say that in the manual or elsewhere?

yeah is in the owners handbook, it recommends you let the oil pressure build up in the hydraulic valve lifters - the reason for the noise  :happy2:

i always wait for the revs to balance before driving off, and never go over 3000rpm until the temp needle is in the middle

That Jack ass clip is LMAO nice one VC, does the hydraulic valve lift apply to the TFSI unit?  Or just your lumpy 6 pot
