ive got sport maxx tyres and they are doing the same thing, wearing on the inside and the road noise is quite loud  , still about 6mm tread left on the rest of the tyre so will run them till there worn out.  then it will be michelin or contis .

I have just started to experience this myself.  Does this seem to only happen on the back tyres or have people seen this problem on the front?  Anyone tried to move the out of shape tyres to the front to see if this makes any difference to the noise?  Gutted that I just purchased two new SportMax for the front to match the part worn rears!

Also, anyone had any response from Dunlop on why this is happening to their tyres?  Surely if we can get a few cases it might be worth approaching them or Watchdog.

Only way to cure is to totally get shot of the Dunlops, use them as Garden flower pots

Swopping from back to front will only make the noise worse. Ive tried that before when i had my old Pescara's refurbed.

....Why is this problem NOT happening with my Dunlop Sport Maxx's?

I don't get any bothersome tyre noise either - Not that I'd be able to hear it!

Most proberly Robin, your not hearing it because you have Darth vader under the bonnet and other alterations meaning you wont notice

....Yep, that's right about the tyre noise but I'm not getting any of the uneven tread wear issues as others are. Surely it's not down to my suspension setup?

You wont be able to tell robin about the tyre wear. If you take the tyre off and run a straight edge accross the tread, then you will see the stepping stone effect matie.

Thought that might be the case.  Think I'm going to burn them!

Also, got two new ones not yet affected which i'll put on ebay,  Can't imagine anyone on this forum wants them but just in case PM if anyone is interested in the new ones - about 500 miles on em.

....Okay, but if wear is even when on the wheel and on the road, why does this matter? I'm not saying it doesn't matter but am trying to understand if I am in any danger from it.

The two Sport Maxx I bought from Mandy are down to 5mm and don't show any sign of this problem. I haven't fitted them yet.
