My DEFI gauges have a little start-up routine which lasts about as long as it takes for the revs to settle. I turn on the car, wait to check if the oil pressure and vac levels are good, and then off I go. Tend not to go above 4000RPM until the coolant temperature has passed through 50-60C at least. Best give a chance for the oil to start flowing and make sure everything is nice and lubed.

Option 1 for me. I just let everything settle (usually about 10 secs or more) before driving off. Also wait till everything is up to operating temp before giving it some beans.

Option 1? - I've forgotten what my question was with all the distractions.
