Just off to test a twintake....
« on: May 12, 2010, 03:25:20 pm »
that I fitted to an ED30 this afternoon, I have pre dyno figures and logs which showed a big gap in requested and actual boost of around 0.4bar. Car is on a stage2+ and I usually hate the noise from intakes (getting old) so hopefully this one is a little more pleasant to live with.

I will report back......

2nd that, too noisey for me, and does sound too harsh at even low speeds for my ears personally.

didnt ge much chance to test it properly, far too much traffic  :sad1: but after the ECU throwing a bit of a wobbler initially it feels very strong so I will try and get some dyno testing done tomorrow.

As for the noise, far quieter than the ITG and others I have tested just a nice amount of wastegate chatter at mid throttle and not noisy when you dont want it to be.

Have  a slight issue with the upper airbox rubbing on the bonnet padding but other than that, fitment is perfect.

I always thought with the Twintake being a seeled CAI it would be quiet. Is this not that case?  How does it compare with say a Dbilas, does anyone know?

if its a sealed unit- does something like a bmc carbon one do a similar job?
i know lots of people that rate them and lots on here have said use open cone types.
i too want better performance and a nicer sound, something to compliment my new blueflame heehee..... without being a 44yr old chav boyracerwanabee :ashamed:
i really need to listen to some at the next show
