Worn brake pads?

When I got my new wheels fitted the other week I thought I'd check the pads to see how worn they were. If you look closely at the below photo they appear to have worn at an angle? Basically the pad edge closest to the hub is far less worn than the edge furthest away. Is that normal because from little I know about brakes it seems a bit weird? They work fine so no real issues in that department but I would have thought the pads would wear evenly?

If I were to replace the pads too what would be a good, road legal replacement and is it simple to change them myself?

Mine seem to be wearing the same, with the outer most section having more wear than the inside section, im not sure if it hasnt lead to the following odd wear pattern on my disc which I posted up in this thread.

Mine have alot less wear left than yours too.

Hmmm. Very strange mate? Don't think I've any unusual wear on the disc that I've noticed but then I don't know what I'm.looking at half the time :laugh:

will see if I can get a picture of mine over the weekend to show the same wear, thinking of attempting the brake change, doesnt seem to hard in haynes manual apart form the possible issue with retracting the piston.  Just need to make sure I get some decent pads, and the right fitting kit incase I break the pins etc.

The pads are made that shape!  its 100% normal

Good to know PDT  :drinking: if I were to change the pads, should I get the proper tool to wind the pads in, or is there a simply way of bodging it with some other tools and a bit of brutte?  :laugh:

As PDT said, this is normal. I think is provides some form of ‘lead’.

Front do not require a caliper wind back tool, but the rears would.
