Lol thats brutal Jonny!!!

A shameless way to treat a new car. :signLOL:

Naaaah..  :happy2: Listen up, im leaving my house in about 10 mins.. It should be loud enough for 'most' of town to hear it now haha..

Anyways, back on topic.. Going from a Sports cat to de-cat will help power and torque as Hurdy said.. I have found in almost all cases going de-cat reduces noise when cruising, but makes the car louder on throttle.. Usually, less of a boom too with de-cat.. More of a raspy note..

Hope that helps..

A Decat to Std Catback would sound great IMO

Should also provide the same performance as any aftermarket TBE on a K03 motor.

The gasses cool as they travel through the system and effectively shrink, not requiring such a large diameter to travel at the same speed. The Std cat back is 2.25" internal diameter on a GTI (prob same on VRS) and should not be restrictive.

It might be worth getting your MOT done just before you have the decat installed

I think 3" downpipe.. As it has been said, when the EGT's are at there highest you need the larger diameter..

cool,  thats only £225 as well. :jumpmove:

I now need to look into a good but quiet(ish) intake.  Last time i had the full non res TBE, and ITG and the missus did nothing but complain.

I want the same performance as before with less shouting about it.  which is always handy as in medway you cant drive a mile without seeing a cop car,

Butchering the Miltek with a flanged stainless section and flanging the Cat.

make sure you get yourself a few gaskets for when you swap over.
