Exhaust Gas Warning Lamp

Hello

The exhaust gas warning lamp came on earlier today as I was driving.  Checked the manual and it says could be lambda sensor.  Had a quick search on here and not that many posts regarding a similar fault.

I've got VCDS so will do a scan tomorrow (not that I know what I'm looking at ha ha!).  Shall I attempt to clear the fault and see if it comes back or take it to VW?

Am I ok to keep driving as the car doesn't feel any different?

Scan it and post it up on here. That light can come on for a lot of reasons.

I've gone through the process in the link, do I now have to clear the fault codes and see if the error comes back or should it clear itself?

Yes clear the faults now

You will need to clear the fault code otherwise it will never go.
