Bluefin
« on: May 15, 2010, 09:40:19 am »

Well finally got my Bluefin done last night. ( muchos gracias Whitehartmart :smiley:

The gods were conspiring against me not get it done this week . First my company decided to send me to Lochinver for two nights (couldn't even get a mobile signal!) got home on the Thursday and the wife had decided to bugger off to her folks caravan until friday. Then she calls on Friday to say she has lost the car key!!!!  :scared:

anyway she eventually arrived home after finding the key at 3.30 yesterday and I set to work.

Unit is as described and very easy to use . I only had one slight issue with drivers as I'm running windows 7. Contacted Dominic at superchips who sorted it over the phone. Great service! :happy2:

First impressions are ones of total amazement.  :driver: What a difference in a car!  much smoother and much more responsive. Pulls like a train now. :jumping: I would reccomend one of these in a minute!

I am however slightly concerned that I may have just embarked on a slippery power modding slope! :surprised:

I take my hat off to hurdy, jonny c , joes gti etc. your cars must be awesome!!!!!

Lots of happy driving to come i'm sure.

I'm on the cusp of making the Bluefin decision.  Just still unsure whether to make the leap.  :scared:

bluefin isnt the only otpion available with a handset.  I had luefin at stage 1/2/2+ and wasnt entirely impressed.  I moved to shark performance and the improvement was quite drastic

here my review of it
http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,9088.0.html

Also many more reviews of his work here:

http://briskoda.net/forums/forum/154-shark-performance/

he also does an option of a race version of the map, which overrides the feature in your ECU that stops you left foot breaking.  thus allowing you to left foot on track properly with out ECU cutting throttle input when you apply the brake

do you have to mod anything on your car e.g. performance to feel the power increase of the Bluefin ?

bluefin stage 1 can be used on a completly standard car.

stage 2 requirs a performance downpipe

stage 2+/3 requires the above and an uprated HPFP.

This is he same for prettty much all remaps
