Nav system on my ed30

Hi i have a ed30 with the Hard drive style nav unit ,I think its the 510 version how do i know what firmware its running and should i have a disk supplied with it ?  Thankyou

To find out which firmware you need to activate the secret menu, which I believe requires coding change using a vagcom or VCDS cable, if this has been done then you hold down the setup key, it will first take you into the radio test screen but if you continue to hold it will eventually go into the diagnostic screen.

If the unit came with the car it should have a DVD of the maps, but as they live on the HDD once installed the DVD and unit normally end up parting company.  You can generally buy copies off the ebay, the latest I'm aware of are v6 maps.
