Wow! I nearly didn't post that because I thought perhaps that nobody would be interested in what I purchased for dinner. How wrong was I.
I buy all my fish from the same guys:
http://www.macsorsons.co.uk/gallery-1They've been at locally it since 1890 so they know what they're doing and what I buy is all freshly caught. I take their advice about what's good and squid tends to be seasonal. John Dory is another favourite of mine.
Oh yeah, that squid has chilli, garlic, olive oil, lemon, a hot griddle pan and my stomach written all over it!
....Very similar to how I like to cook squid except I use a hot wok. I cut the squid into rings/slices.
The scallops don't get more than about 4 minutes done in the juice of half a lemon. I don't garlic them but mix some Blue Dragon Chilli & Lime sauce in with the fresh egg noodles.
IMO too many people spoil the taste of fish with fancy sauces. I only add lemon juice to lobster but I don't usually buy it because it's so expensive, but he gives me some leftovers sometimes and I don't complain!
Cheers, guys!
And yes, the scallops were very tasty indeed.
