Was going to go for the TZ10, but decided against it due to the sensor.
Two 'breeds' of compact cameras:
1. SuperZooms - like the TZ10. Awesome zoom, but smaller sensor.
2. Larger sensor cameras - poorer zoom, but larger sensors mean higher quality, sharper, images with less grain, and much better in low light shots. These cameras can take shots in low light with no flash, and still produce no grain, so you get a more natural image rather then a brightly lit one.
I went for the Canon S95 since I didnt need a large zoom, but wanted the larger sensor for indoor shots, evening shots, and so on. Its a popular choice for DSLR owners who want a compact as well, since it has the manual controls and a lens ring that are similar to DSLRs. It also saves in RAW format as well as JPEG for editing later.
Video of it, with its basic controls etc....
Although I already have a Sandisk Extreme 32GB Class 10 SDHC card, Ive also got this arriving today....
This is like a never-ending SD card (Class 6), since as you take photos it will wireless transfer them to your computer at the same time. Or if you have been out taking images, you switch your computer on and the card sends all the pics across straight away - no need to plug anything in
Im considering purchasing 'ShutterSnitch' on my iPad. This transfers images from teh card straight onto the iPad or iPhone. That way I can be taking an image with my camera, which will wirelessly transfer across to my iPad in the background - so rather then review an image on the smaller camera screen, you have all your images on the iPad ready to review straight away - and then transfer them to the computer etc later.
