Hope you have better luck than me.

Mine just created a knocking noise at low speed. No matter how much I tightened them. I even tried to make an insert to fit in between the hole in the ARB and the bolt on those. But all to no avail. You could jack the car up and wobble the ARB to create the noise. In the end I took them off and put OEM ones back on.

So these dont fit properly? FFS!

Ive just had a look at them and do you mean you couldnt get the arb end tight or the bit that attaches to the rear arm?

The ARB end.

It's not that they don't fit they do. Basically the bolt that goes through the ARB hole is slightly too thin. But it is not thin enough to fit a poly sleeve over to stop the noise. I tried everything from plastic sheathing, heat shrink, amalgam tape etc. No matter how much I tightened them I couldn't stop it.

Maybe it was just my Eibach bars but the noise annoyed me so I took them off. It must have been bad as even the wife said without me saying anything "what's the knocking noise?"

Try them and see what you think. Like I said it may have just been the eibach bars. But when I put the OEM ones back on the noise stopped.

Ill go out now and check the bolt thru the hole in one of the arb holes. TBH, if theres any chance of these making a noise i dont want them on... ill just by some new OEM ones and sell these!

Thanks for the info mate!

Your better off fitting them, going for a drive, tightening them up again and then grip the ARB and just pull back an forth on it. Remember to have the car on decent axle stands as I wouldn't recommend doing it on a jack

Problem is i cant fit them as i dont have any tools! So it would be a case of paying someone to fit them and fingers crossed. Then if the do knock, paying for them to be swapped again!

This is becoming a PITA... hate driving this car at the minute!

Unless you have the tools then get someone who knows what they are doing and has the tools to do the swap.

To remove the OEM ones from the rear arm & ARB you need an M6 spline bit to sit inside the bolt whilst you loosen the nut or they jut spin round. It's pretty straight forwards but be careful as the bit the M6 spline fits into may have corroded and if it breaks the only way to get them off is by cutting them off. As I found out  :fighting:

I chose the Neuspeed ones over BSH for their design, the BSH are straight at the looks of it, Neuspeed has bendt them a bit to facilitate the distance between the ARB and the car better, and aparently the bolt of the Neuspeed fits better

Anyone tried the Audi A4/A5 front links?
They are alloy as well and seem to fit the Golf rear.

There 110 mm and 170 mm versions. 110 mm alloy and 170 plastic and alloy.
Joints are in rubber of course but pressing in ball joints won't cost as much
as the Neuspeed and BSH links and it doesen't affect the OEM look.

Just had a look at that and in my humble opinion that is the piece of Apple kit that makes the most sense.  :happy2:
