i will be interested to see what you make of it!
Me too Stealth.
I'll let you guys know. This is my first move from a bog standard P&S into something a bit more advanced (other than when I used to faff around with my dad's SLR).
Initial impressions: At the mo, very sturdy construction - everything feels solid even if the case is plastic. Very easy to get to all of the important functions quickly. It comes with a neck strap which is a bit OTT for this type of camera - will be looking into buying a suitable wrist strap for it. The articulated screen is very useful and can see how much it'll be helpful in getting awkward shots. Has a hotshoe so it'll accept the speedlite flashes, and a socket for a remote shutter release. Very good at macro and I can believe the claim of focussing from 1". Will get some pics up this week.
You will need an up to date version on Adobe Camera RAW... (also, try to 'acquire' a copy of Photoshop CS5)
I have PS CS2. Updated the Camera RAW but it still won't open the CR2 files. I'm having a bash with adobe's DNG converter at the moment. Not worried about "acquiring" so much as whether it'll run on my laptop!
You may be able to get away with Photoshop Elements Stealth.
Thanks for the tip. Will see if it'll run.
