It is a Dell XPS 15 L502x
Graphics : 2GB NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M Graphics card
4 GB (2x2GB)1333MHz DDR3 Dual Channel Memory
Wireless: Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6230 (2x2 b/g/+ Bluetooth Combo Card)
Battery : Primary 9-cell 90W/HR LI-ION
500 GB SATA Hard Drive (7200 RPM)
8X DVD +/- RW DRIVE
Display : 15.6" HD WLED True-Life (1366x768) with 2.0 Mega Pixel Integrated Camera
Processor :  Intel Core i7-2630QM processor 2.00 GHz
Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium (64 BIT)

Initial impressions are good but things will improve with an SSD and 8GB of RAM.

It's a Dell Outlet Certified Refurb'd machine which suits me as it's not full of pre-loaded junk

Carl, how much was the shed/where from?  how secure is it?

It's a 6'x4' Keter Shed that came from Tesco Direct (Cheapest place once delivery was taken into account) for £255 delivered (you can select delivery date too)

It is secure enough. It's only plastic so it "could" be cut open but you would hear them at it unless your away/sleep like a brick. It is sturdy enough and is weather proof. It also gets 8.9 out of 10 on revoo.com. But as it is only to stop the thieving bar stewards from nicking my lawnmower/BBQ etc I'm not overly concerned on the security. Out of sight out of mind and all that. Although the padlock is nearly as expensive

If your wanting to put things securely in it then you can get metal reinforced ones that are a lot more expensive. However i would just recommend a metal shed if your going to do that.

Keep an eye out on Hot UK deals as they sometimes crop up on there for a lot less.

Here it is on Tesco Direct

It is a Dell XPS 15/quote]

I recognised the XPS bit which is why I asked. I've just received this:

Intel® Core™i7 Quad Core Mobile Processor i7-2720QM (2.20GHz) 6MB Cache
8GB SAMSUNG 1333MHz SODIMM DDR3 MEMORY (2 x 4GB)
2.0GB nVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 580M
500GB WD SCORPIO BLACK WD5000BPKT, SATA 3 Gb/s, 16MB CACHE (7200 rpm)
SONY BD-5730S 6x BLURAY WRITER
Internal 9 in 1 Card Reader (MMC/RSMMC/SD: Mini, XC & HC/MS: Pro & Duo)
Intel 5.1 Channel High Definition Audio + SPDIF/MIC/Headphone Jack
GIGABIT LAN & WIRELESS 802.11N CARD INC. BLUETOOTH 3.0

Is that a refurb Stealth? I wanted a 17 incher but the budget would have been stretched too far.

Don't know if I will miss the extra 2 inches.

Nope. I just paid a lot of money for it. My previous laptop was a 15.4" widescreen and was great. This feels like a behemoth in comparison. The hi-def screen is awesome though not had a chance to put it through its paces.

Just got hold of office and photoshop for now.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

Now I have the house all to myself i got something i always wanted...a kitten!

Lovely cat!  :happy2:

You've got a right handful with that one, ours is only part Bengal and he's a little sod! Yours looks like a proper one

Get 2 water bowls as they like to drink from one and paddle in the other, don't leave the sink full of water and keep the toilet seat closed and the bathroom door shut unless you want company in the shower...

She is set to be big too! her mum and dad are both 4x show winners and are huge! I have a few water fountains for the house, as moving water encourages them to drink more :D

Water timer to look after my greenhouse for next two weeks while I'm cooking in Santorini. Bargain at £15 from local garden centre. Was going to leave it to my daughter but because she shares my wife's genes I thought,      "no o o o , get something with a logic chip".

Regards,
John

A good investment, you won't regret it. I can't rest if I visit someone and have to leave my car on the street, God knows how I'd be if I had to leave it all on its own overnight!

John
