I might have look into this. I hate my POS otterbox defender for the 4s. Not a patch on the one for the 3GS - the rubber has become all loose and the frikkin case creaks!

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

Infinity styley? Was toying with going for that, but apparently the modem can only be plugged into the main phone socket and mine's in the bleedin' hallway! What good is that?!

Just replaced a HH2. The actual modem is the POS Huawei box that BT want to come and replace.  :fighting:

You sure about not running off an extension Simon? I can't say for certain but I thought it was possible.

I was just reading the blurb on the BT website. Said it has to be connected to the master socket. I have my desktop connected to my current modem/router with a cable (name escapes me... CAT5, is it?) and I would want that to continue...

I've got split lines, you'll be fine, just tell the engineer whats what then leave them to make noise and do their magic, took a few hours to do mine - some at the exchange and some at the house. I've got split lines and it's all good  :happy2:

Yes CAT5 or Ethernet.

You could just stick a (very cheap) wireless card in your desktop and plug everything else into your Master Socket.

My hall is devoid of furniture and what have you, so it would stick out like a sore thumb. The house has half a dozen other sockets hanging off the master so being able to use one of those would be sehr gut!

I don't see why it wouldn't work as it's only a silly 2-pair back to the cabinet and your extensions are exactly that, extensions of the original line.

Get it booked Simon and then surprise him when he arrives.

You're right, of course. It's probably to stop people whinging when the speed's not quite as advertised. Might email 'em and ask after the weekend ..
