Ive got 1 or 2 bits i have to repair but it is a very solid thing, best of all the bloke that lives one side has offered to help with ground work and putting electric lights up, and the guy on the other side has asked me to put it as tight to the fence as poss as the fence wont have to be replaced at any point, which is perfect as i will then have an easy run down the side of the house to get in and out  :signLOL: im trying to find the energy to go out and start to level the area :ashamed:

Those slabs are heavy, we had a similar thing at the bottom of our garden at our last house, kids called the "Bomb Shelter". Any clues to the kit your planning on? About 10 years ago I started a Westfield with a Vauxhall motor in it, never finished it, sold as parts, always regret that  :sad1:

well a garage i use to work at we sold 4/5 westfields, i got to drive them all and they ranged from a 200bhp vauxhall valver lump to a factory V8, the best by a mile was a fireblade engined one, im still in the thinking side of it and part of me thinks buying one thats built and (registered) then rebuilding could be a way to go, but i would love to just order a complete kit and start from that, be a brand new car, ive looked at loads of different kits and keep coming back to the westy for looks, hmm could even use a GTI lump, keep it VAG ish

....Aha! A Batcave Kit. Mine is a bit like that but was built in the 1950's on a concrete slab and with up&over new door. Protects the beloved car though but not enough room to swing a cat (yes I would!) and no elecky.

Westfields are great fun and stupidly fast. My old man has owned a couple now. The first one ran a Vauxhall 2.0L 16V engine which we later replaced with a Ford 2.0L BDG. The second one, which he still has is a race spec Megabusa 1400cc (previously 1600cc) running on slicks which is a previous hillclimb class record holder.

I think if your gonna have a kit car, you may aswell buy it in kit form as building them is part of the fun.

Loving the garage by the way

Thank you mate, ive been thinking about the base so prob in the next week or so i will have to lay a concrete base so i can get the thing built asap, still trying to sort the finer points, mainly where its gonna go as atm we have a brick shed in the way of the drive on the side of the house, im not sure what to do, i may have to reverse the spec from work in to the old shed so it has to be knocked down , will make sure once the ground work/build starts that i make sure i start a thread on here, should be fun :signLOL: any members fancy lending a hand???????

Been pondering it for some time, too long maybe, so decided to risk a kidney and place the deposit on one of these before they sell them all!!!

180 PS BiTurbo 2.0 TDi.  Sadly no DSG option on these bad boys.

Ignore the Alan Day bit, that's just the stock image I found.

Nice one, Stu!  :happy2:

If you need anything done to it, either in interior or performance, I can strongly recommend these guys in Portland: http://www.vanworx.co.uk/
