Been pondering it for some time, too long maybe, so decided to risk a kidney and place the deposit on one of these before they sell them all!!!

180 PS BiTurbo 2.0 TDi.  Sadly no DSG option on these bad boys.

Ignore the Alan Day bit, that's just the stock image I found.

....Fabulous! Roof conversion?

Yep. When we bought the house 16 months ago the attic conversion had been partially done. The stairs had been put in and the floor strengthened, but thats where it ended. It's a old Victorian house so the attic is really big - we're having a wet room up there and using the eaves over the front of the house for storage, but there will still be room for a lounge area and a double bed etc. The plan is that our 3-year-old is going to have it until Ella, our 12-week-old baby has grown up a little.

What is the spec and what options have you gone for, Stu?

Damo,

It's based on the California SE with some extra's as standard -

Met Paint
Bike Rack
Side Awning
Special 18" Bi Colour 'Dakar' Alloys
Berghaus Branded Carpet Mats and Waterproof Seat Covers
Cruise Control
Front & Rear Parking Sensors
Visibility Pack B (Auto Wipers, Rear View Mirror & Headlights)
Multi Function Steering Wheel
Privacy Glass
Dual Zone Climate
Safe Box
Nasty Berghaus Badges!!

Each vehicle is also supplied with a special Berghaus ‘pack’, including sleeping bags, day sacks, hats, gloves, insulated mugs and a flask.

Only in the 180PS BiTurbo with manual box for these as far as I know.

From what I can gather they built 80 the same with a mix of the 3 available colours (Reflex Silver, Olympian Blue and Natural Grey), not sure yet what the split was but when I enquired on Sunday there were 3 Grey and 7 Blue left.  I also know a dealer that has a Silver in stock.  I ordered this afternoon and I know another dealer I was talking to took orders for two as well.  There are no normal California SE's in UK free stock so these although IMHO over priced are being snapped up.  There are SE's around the country but dealers are being less than genuine with the stock system to ring fence them.

Was also offered a 6 month old SE in Toffee Brown (You may remember from Oli's thread) with 60 miles on the clock for a VERY good price.

Yeah that is a slight downside, although after a hard weekend of haggling I didn't pay that.

Plan is to keep all the Berghaus stuff unopened and boxed in the loft for future resale with the van.  None of it is of any great use to us so there seems little point in opening it and after all, if I sold you a 3 year old van with 3 year old used sleeping bags and wooly hats you wouldn't see any use or value from them.

Nice one, Stu!  :happy2:

If you need anything done to it, either in interior or performance, I can strongly recommend these guys in Portland: http://www.vanworx.co.uk/

Thanks Robin.  Where is their place, Easton?

Edit - Looks like they are in the new area on the old airfield.

details please Chris  :happy2:

It's one of the Home AV plugs, got a couple of the regular TP link ones like this http://uk.tp-link.com/products/details/?categoryid=1862&model=TL-PA211KIT  and then this one does upto 200mb over the power sockets back to the router and upto 300mb Wireless N connection.  You get a setup cd in the box which allows you to set all the passwords etc for security and the other usual network settings like a router.

It claims upto 200mb when using a cable and TP link have a piece of monitoring software so you can check performance, getting about 165mb as this plug is on the upstairs ring main and the plug pushing the signal out is on downstairs ring main, so happy with performance.
