How much was the MacBook pro then? It's a new retina one right?

not cheap, got a 17% discount via my companies staff retail discount site, with apple care it was £2684  :roll eye:

But if it lasts as long as the last one they ill be happy.

Anyhow its up and running now, all synced with iCloud and iTunes in minutes, very quiet, screen is impressive but cannot seem to watch youtube vids on safari - anyone any ideas??

cheers

I get a black screen, sometimes with youtube on safari, 99% of the time it is fine though, Just occasionally press play and it goes black.  :fighting2:

We got a couple of the "base spec" MacBook Pros for £1300 a piece. One is our in house photographers main machine, so he's really benefitting from the new screen.

I have a new 12-core Mac Pro coming, should be an absolute beast!

Not strictly a purchase but nevertheless.......

Synology DX510 expansion drive.

Looks exactly the same as my Synology Ds1511+ NAS. This unit connects into my NAS and can be used to extend the overall volume or used as a new volume for backups etc. Basically it will turn my 5 bay NAS into a 10 bay NAS.
I'll add one drive for now and add more as and when I need them.

I don't really need it TBH, but I'm getting it for free from Synology - I just need to review it for them and create a video for my YouTube channel.

Thanks to Apple discontinuing the Macbook Pro 17" i7 QuadCore, prices are tumbling, i had t have one. So i did. Previously the 17" MBP retailed for Circa £2,200 but now you can pick one up for £1,599 from PCWorld which is a steal. Managed to score Applecare for £59.97 as well

New house so thought i would replace our Dyson as it is 10yrs old. Was looking at current equivalent Dyson and its £399.99  :stupid:

So i bought this instead at £149 as it has £130 off the RRP at Comet Online. The headline with this vacuum is (in a head to head with Dyson) that at only 1kg heavier it is a hell of a lot more powerful suction wise (and we all know that sucking is vital )

Dyson DC 41                     Vax

7.8kg                               8.8kg
255 Air Watts (Suction)    340 Air Watts (Suction)
5yr Warranty                   6yr Warranty
2.1L Dust Capacity           3L Dust Capacity

The remainder is pretty much the same.

Sometimes a dry suck can be better than a wet suck

I'd be happy either way.  :sad1:

Robin - don't worry that's not aimed at you.
