Oh FFS why did you post this up.  :surprised: :surprised:

  There is no substitute for the real thing!

I'll let you into a little secret though, which you may or may not know, the Asda Smart Price ones (36p a bag) are almost as good!

'cos he's evil Carl.

Hmm, well these are for my Dad's birthday, but I may relieve him of a quarter or two before I give them to him

I emptied visited that place a few months back and didn't notice them there. Will have another look.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

Single cans in the fridge at the front of the shop, Mountain Dew was on offer for 40p a can which made it taste even sweeter.

£1.50?!!

It says on the can it's made in Uxbridge, so you've just paid a fortune for that can to be made in the UK, exported abroad (if that ever actually happened*) and then re-imported at great expense when a couple of drops of vanilla flavouring added to a boggo 28p can would probably taste just the same...

*if it never, then the price has been inflated even more

....Unfortunately that extent of unnecessary extra transport is quite common in the food industry, even with wet goods:

Locally (I live by the sea) unless you know the right people to shortcut/bypass the process, fresh fish gets caught and landed and then transported hundreds of miles away before being returned to local retailers. The retailers then advertise it as locally caught - Yes, but how many days ago!? The stupidity is compounded by it being 'illegal' to sell fish directly off the fishing boat. Most of the fish/seafood I buy is less than 24hrs old and often much less.

Recent purchase: Some very fresh Lyme Bay scallops:

Oh Robin, now your talking.  :notworthy:

Fresh Seafood is just amazing. Shell fish is probably my most favouritest food ever :notworthy:

When I'm not in Italy I day dream about scallops, clams, squid, mussels, prawns, lobster and octopus.
