Virgin media DL is great... but BT infinity is a better average of DL/UL.

you wanna get that upload speed checked out mate, you should have at least 6-7mbps with virgin.

I used to get 50mb with virgin... but my upload has always been around this...

.
I justed tested mine (no fibre, just carbon, in my neck of the woods).........

^ Although that appears to be a snail's pace I have to say that everything uploads and downloads fast enough - Why would you need such high speeds?

everyone has different needs robin, a good line at my home and my unit are very important to me. I have a CCTV system that records to a NAS drive in the unit, but the data is also sent to my house and backed up in almost real time incase anything happens. For example a break in at the unit and the perps stealing the CCTV HD drive to destroy evidence

Yeah, we have Virgin at work and have always found the upload to be sketchy in comparison to the download. Either way though, we ferry around some big files and it has never presented a problem.

Why would you need such high speeds?

For me it is because my 3-year-old is using his iPad to access iPlayer and stream content, often at the same time as my wife and I are using the Internet, so with a normal connection there can be a bottleneck. I have a few digital magazine subscriptions that are around 600Mb per issue. Over a normal connection they takes ages so I have to download them at work.

This should be good... willy waving of UL/DL speeds, so lets see who can post the fastest UK speeds

I need the speed as we have NAS , 3 phones running wifi , Ipad. On demand TV, Xbox online, skype,  come to think of it NAS has nothing to do with the speed ... although it is through the gbit router.

I will check my UL speed out but I have a feeling it's probably the crapy superhub that VM supply.

I dont think anyone is willy waving, just suggesting your not really getting what you pay for with your virgin line, but whatever.

and yes, get your superhub replaced. Id recommend you a good router i just bought but i wouldnt wanna be accused of router waving
