Couldn't agree enough! Join a club, and get insurance I personally have BMFA insurance.

Baby steps... its incredible how quickly it can go wrong! and someone could be seriously injured!

Nice xmas gift from the wife...

Macbook pro retina

I bought myself one and it still not turned up. Scheduled for delivery. Can't wait to get it now. how you finding it.

It's replaced a well specd 2009 pro which had 8gb ram so I wasn't expecting it to be too different but tbh they've really moved the game on.  It's so much smaller, not just in thickness but width and depth.  The old one feels like a brick in comparison.  Load times are none existent with everything, it's all instant.  These SSD drives certainly make a difference.  My old mac would take a few mins to complete booting, opening spotify, sonos program and be ready to use.  This one is ready to go in 12 seconds.

Battery is lasting 7-10 hrs in normal internet use with full brightness which is almost 3 times as long as my old one.

And the retina display is incredible, probably the best bit!  Pin sharp, lovely and bright and even after just an hr of use, looking at the old screen looked like it was some really low res phone screen from 10 years ago.  It looked so nice before, it's amazing how quickly you adjust to a new standard.

I was a bit reluctant to be treated to what felt like a pretty unnecessary gift but no one is prising it out of my fingers now.  My apple love is restored after losing a lot of love for them over the past few years of poor iPhone releases :notworthy:

Excited much now!!!! Lol best be here Monday I'm tired of waiting they said before Christmas

A big-boy's toy:

Oh, and a simulator to learn on. Don't want it to turn into an expensive pile of parts!

You must fly them to jump straight in with that! Lol

Nope!

Got a little carried away and it was a great deal.
The guy I bought it from sold me Phoenix RC simulator for a tenner when I picked it up. He made me promise to get to grips with it before attempting to fly it! I will.

Went into a reasonably local RC shop earlier today to scope it out (parts may be required) and to source a charger (the only thing I don't have).
The guy thought I was a little off my nut - In an evil genius kind of way!
Didn't at any point tell me it was the worst choice I have ever made - just to be careful. Kind of like teaching yourself to drive with a Dodge Viper in the wet!  :driver:

Looks like there's a weeks lead time on those 340mm discs. Anyone else get their email?

They reckon it could be 3-6 weeks now, a nice chap called me with the news earlier. I cancelled as I need discs ASAP  :sad1:
Used to have Edition 30 - number 009 and a GT TDI 140.
Now have an S4 B8 Avant (stage 2)
