Remap Recommendations in the south East ?
« on: April 21, 2010, 09:06:23 am »
There are a few places near me who do remaps and was just wondering if there are any of you had used.

AMD (Thurrock) or DYNOTECH (Erith) ?

Or any other local options that you have used.

Also what would be the best map to go for REVO,APR,Shark ect.

What gains would I be looking at? Car still under warranty so would prefer a switch if this would make any difference at all to VW carrying out warranty work.

I say shark performance. you can have it via a handset like bluefin or visit him in nottingham.  however you'd still be happy with REVO as well.  They would be the ones i would choose

irrelevant of what the tuners claim, you will not make 55hp on a stage 1 map.  realistically 235-240hp 260-270Ibft is what you will end up with

Used AMD in Thurrock yesterday and would reccomend them highly.
I decided on the AmD map due to the fact that they actually put it on the rollers and do full diagnostics before changing anything. It was a very good job they did that as my DV was split and my original rolling road showed only 174hp!  :surprised:
Also there service and advice on the phone and by e-mail was impeccable. As opposed to my nearest REVO dealer who failed to return my calls twice and consequently lost my business.
Final result incl BSH True Seal intake = 257hp and 285lb/ft of torque and a massive smile on my face, car is transformed.
N.B people will dispute AmD's rollers, but this car once rolling is as quick (real world) as my 265hp S3 RR'd at Automotive Developments.
Car = 3dr K03 Gti - Shadow Blue Metallic - Monza II's - Cream Heated leather, Sat Nav, BSH True Seal, AmD Remap.
Bike = Honda CBR600FX Superlight

I also used AMD and found them very helpful. I also used them because like Lovegroover I wanted the car put on the rolling road to get before and after results. I was very happy with the results and how the car feels.

They also have done a full service and cam.belt/water pump on the car. Not main dealer service but OK and a lot cheaper.

I have also just fitted the latest VW DV. The original early type DV was not split but I am sure the car feels better.

I work in Croydon and tried to find Tuning Werks once in passing but failed. Where are they exactly?

^^^^
My revo dealer, JKM Portsmouth, used their dyno when remapping my car. Plus it's fairly regularly checked by them on the dyno.

AMD are best bet although, JKM have a good rep so it just depends on which is nearer to you?
