Correct Orientation For Ball joints on wishbones?

looks correct in the photo. On the standard wishbones the nuts go beneath the wishbone.

early Vw's with camber adjustment on the arms had the bolts on the top as per the photo. Presuming this is to protect the nuts from accidental adjustment or possibly to make more difficult to adjust thus helping labour rates!

By having the bolts on the top doesn't it lessen the risk of losing them if they come loose? Though you'd have problems if loose anyway!

robin has a fair point.  if the bolt is from above and the nut falls off, you still have a bolt securing the ball joint.  if it cameup from below,  it could potentially drop clean out :surprised:
