Is performance reduced when service is due?
« on: May 18, 2010, 09:10:45 pm »
Could be going mad here.

Changed the service from T&D to LL using VAGCOM.

Just started to show 600 miles (now 500 miles) till next service.

Sure that the performance has dropped off a bit. Putting 2 + 2 and coming up with 5  :scared:

DSG seems to be in too high a gear & not as ready to drop down. Hesitation prob the best way to describe.

No errors on VAGCOM but temped to reset the service indicator just to see.
No Golf anymore.

DSG learns your driving behaviour so if you've been driving like a granny then upshifts will start occuring earlier.

Put the car in S and go for a blasts to reset the dsg fuzzy logic.   :happy2:

On the DSG fuzzy logic topic, how long (or how far back) does the fuzzy logic track driving style?  surely it cant be indefinite.  For example is it roughly the last 3 months or x number of turn over cycles, or x number of miles.  Any one got a scooby?

In all seriousness i don't think the ECU would reduce power etc near to service time.

Im on variable servicing and i haven't ever felt any difference in performance when a service is due

i cant see how it would to be honest, reducing performance could cause potential safety issues if the power was needed... no car company would want a law suit like that

therefore i reckon the only 'smart car' would be...

That must be one strong camera mount!   :surprised:  and cannot help but feel that is one epic fail, failure to check if your new number plate recognition vehicle can fit under your restricted height entry barriers!  :signLOL:
