£50k for a Daewoo Lanos/Proton GTI lookalike? No thanks...  :stupid: It may look nice (although no pics yet) and go well, but £50k
Think the 0-60 figure is a bit opptimistic too, 1500kgs and 395bhp

Im sorry but £50k

Makes me wonder what mine can do 0-60 with the back seats and spare wheel out etc. It did 4.7 secs to 60 with full interior and passenger at Inters last year but that was just Stage 1. I reckon I could be in the low 4's now im Stage 2+  :jumping:

I guess this is to rival the Mitsubishi FQ400 which is also around the £50K mark.

Agree that the price is comical but if the performance figures are to be believed...i guess you're talking cars that cost a hell of a lot more than this to rival it performance wise.  This Nissan skyline is around £60k i think so perhaps compared to this it's not badly priced.

Personally, for £50k i would be looking at something else.

if were just playing the "whos got the biggest turbo" game then i'd be buying a tricked EVO 2nd/3rd hand, spending a wad to go warp speed then use the change to buy a 2nd hand porsche and fill it with hookers

I guess there is a brand loyalty element as well.  There are people who love Scooby's, VWs, Fords, etc.  People will pay top prices for the biggest and fastest of a car brand they love.

The Focus RS500 is a good example at £35K!!!  Crazy price for what is in essence a Focus but what a car.  Ok...not £50k but 0-60 of 5.4 cannot quite match 3.7.

Would there be a number of deposits taken if VW released an R32 Turbo or a variant of the new Golf R with 400BHP at £50K and 0-60 times of sub 4 sec???  I bet there would!!

What's a new Golf R with all the gubbins...around £40K?  Add at least £10K for uprated brakes, suspension, engine mods (turbo, etc.), full uprated exhaust system, and a solid gold 3 year VW warranty...easily £50k surely?   Much better build quality that a Scooby as well.
