Bluefin Unit - what's it worth ?
« on: October 16, 2009, 10:49:32 am »
Now I've sold  my Edition 30 I have a Bluefin device but no car to use it on  :sad1:

Is it worth keeping it for another car .... such as an R20   or what's it worth to sell privately so someone can have it reprogrammed ??

Any ideas ......

I depends really. I think you would need to speak to Superchips and get it reset before you sold it on.

I think its worth selling mate - provided it's reset first.

If its less than 12 months old Superchips will reset for just the price of carriage (they charge £6 I think).  If its more than 12 months old then the cost is over £300 inc vat from memory which then takes it mighty close to the £390 you can get them from JKM.  Map has to have been taken off the old car for the free reset to apply also!

I bought mine off ebay recently from a decent seller - paid him £150 originally, as I thought the free reset would make it a bargain - turns out he hadn't removed it from the old car so Superchips wanted the full £300+.  ebay seller refunded my money and said I could keep the handset!!  :happy2:  Superchips also agreed to a price of £238 + VAT as someone previously gave me incorrect info on the phone!

HTH (although I might have confused matters more!!  )

Bluefin unit now reset - it cost me nothing to have it done as under a year old.

Superchips altered their computer to reset it so when I connected to their server it sorted it.

Now, do I keep it for the R20 in a couple of years or just sell it

i sold mine for 60 quid, but it needed the reset paying for which the buyer got for 190 from superchips.

if yours is reset, id sell it for 200+.

Bought mine from wigit that was reset within its 1st year for £185.

Thats what people would be willing to pay. £200 is asking too much.

I know of someone thats looking for one possibly. Let me know if your willing to shift and i can contact him to get in touch with you fella :drinking:
