Love the power of the Golf but I can't stop looking at the Teg, can't talk myself out of it.

played with one last weekend, was turboed, running 320hp, carbon bonnet boot and wing. Still no match for stage 2 plus though rolling or standing.

Would most likely piss all over me on the twisties though

They do look super-smart. There's one running about near where I work that I look at and admire. I'd still stick to my Golf though.

Had 3 DC5's and 2 DC2's great cars, just you have to be in the mood to get the most out of them, can be alittle annoying on those well cold morning, nice sunny day around the lanes =  8)

Saw it today, the most beautiful car i've seen in the flesh  :jumping:

Test drive, no power until 6k, expected more eagerness TBH. Ex has a JDM EP3 and that is a right little eager beaver, mind you I only drove that before I had Eddie. I know a Hondata ECU can bring the power forward to 4.5k, and a new inlet manifold will see good gains from the word go. I think I am used to 305bhp and anything less will feel meh.

Still can't get it out my head though, it brings driving alive again, makes it the occasion it was when you just passed your test.

The drive back (5 hours) with Eddie was great, comfy, no rattles, instant grunt. I think I need to own both these cars but that can't be done!

Damn. Damn damn. What to do!

Unless its a charged K20a the Type R's are just too slow in a world of 250bhp+ Turbo hatches now. The next Type R is going to need to be supercharged or turbo'd if they want to keep selling them

Either that or they go back to basics and strip them out to save wight to go for bhp/ton. My EP3 was quick with filter, exhaust and kpro, but only just quicker than a standard mk5 gti.

My mates DC2, its got weitecs on it and some sort of muggen twin loop exhaust, what it lacks in torque it more than makes up in awesome handeling.........Dare i say it.................the best handeling FWD car ever .............i think it is.

Still wouldnt buy one though they are made of tissue paper, selection box plastic and chewing gum, not my bag !

the vtec comes in about 6k, which imo is far to late.  when you remap them although peak power doesnt increase like a turbo car, the vtec pointis brought down to about 4k so power comes in way earlier

as a chassis, they say there is nothing available on the market(FWD) that will compete with it, and its raw as well, no electronic keep you safe malarkey, just a pukka chassis that is fantastic from the offset

Drove my mates JDM EP3 again yesterday for comparison and it's faster than the teg for sure. Out of vtec the civic still has torque but that teg was flat as f***.

How can the JDM be quicker when it has no where near the claimed bhp figure in this country, as we dont have the higher octane fuel?

Its well known on the forums that all the type r's are only set apart by the drivers in them, or any other minor difference (fuel, age, tyre wear, oil etc etc)
