Can't reset the trip meter
« on: May 21, 2010, 02:40:49 pm »
I just had a phone call from the RAC inspector about the GTi I'm about to buy.

Everything is in great condition, with the exception of the Mileage Trip Meter.

No matter what he did, he could not reset it to zero.

Is this is a common problem?

And how difficult and costly is it to fix?

Cheers.

Did he press the button down for long enough?

What is the milage set at? If it's like 1000, then prolly been like that for a while.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.
