I used to use one years ago. Pretty good tool but perhaps a little OTT for cutting pipework off
Basically just an arc which then uses gas to blow through the cut. Bit like an electric version of an Oxy Acetylene/Oxy Propane torch.
You'll get quite a lot of spatter and because it uses electric you'll need to disconnect the battery etc everytime.
I've seen chain cutters which are good for taking exhausts off.
