LPG
« on: May 24, 2010, 04:14:29 pm »
Has anyone got any experience with LPG? Are there any drawbacks to using a car with LPG fitted? I've been told that MPG on gas will be about 10% less but with half the cost of petrol.
If its that good why dont manufacturers offer it as an option?

Reason I ask is because I've come across a rather tasty V8 Disco on LPG at a price thats making me reconsider a Freelander 2

hi mate the car i sometimes use at work is a volvo V70 with lpg from the factory and other than normal servicing and a clutch its covererd 165k and still going strong.
i think the only drawbacks are a slight drop in power (unnoticeable), its highly flammable so may bump your insurance up a tad  and finding a filling station close by, which depends where you live of course
